4th Annual Raheem DeVaughn & Friends Benefit Concert Left Everyone Begging for More!

ON DECEMBER 21ST, RAHEEM DEVAUGHN, DMC, THE BACKYARD BAND, FAITH EVANS, ANGIE STONE, MAJOR, THE CROSSRHODES, MACEE, FAITH EVANS, KINDRED & THE FAMILY STONE AND CHRIS SCHOLAR HEADLINED THE 4TH ANNUAL RAHEEM DEVAUGHN & FRIENDS BENEFIT CONCERT AND IT WAS NOTHING SHORT OF SPECTACULAR!!!

The 4th Annual Raheem DeVaughn & Friends Benefit Concert at the Howard Theatre left everyone begging for MORE!

The concert was aimed to help raise funds and awareness through Raheem DeVaughn’s non-profit organization, The LoveLife Foundation. The LoveLife Foundation provides monetary support for causes such as; HIV/AIDS Awareness, Domestic Violence Prevention, Youth Programming, Scholarships, and the list goes on. This year, The LoveLife Foundation partnered with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) to present this benefit concert as a means to further educate the community at large on the progress of HIV/AIDS Prevention in hopes to eradicate the global pandemic.

Because Raheem DeVaughn does so much for so many, DC Nitelife felt it was time to honor his hard work with DC Nitelife’s “Community Involvement Award” at our 4th Annual Comedy with A Purpose Toy Drive and Awards Reception which took place on December 9th.  Since Raheem was not able to attend the awards reception, we could not have thought of a better time to present him with his award which was presented by JV Jones and show how much we all recognize and appreciate the tireless work he and his team have done thus far with the LoveLife Foundation!

The concert was packed with a full lineup of entertainment and hosted by DC’s own Deja Perez of 93.9 WKYS and Ask Asia of MAJIC 102.3 & 92.7. Let us start off by saying how much we enjoyed seeing Chris Scholar perform and show off his musical talents. Along came a pleasant musical surprise and her name was Macee; she was a beautiful spitfire and oh so talented.  There was so much talent under Howard Theatre’s roof that night!  Rap Legend DMC of Run DMC, the Backyard Band, Faith Evans, Kindred and the Family Stone, Major, Angie Stone, and DJ Money rocked the house!  However…………..

It was Raheem DeVaughn and the CrossRhodes that brought the house down.  Raheem literally lit the house on fire (not literally) but his performance was Remarkable!  There are so many favorites and he sang them all, especially “Ridiculous” and “Bulletproof.”  Living like your bulletproof…..bang bang bang bang bang! When Wes Felton took the stage with Raheem, they aroused the crowd with their song titled “America” which ignited an energy that literally took over the THEATRE!!

HANDS WERE RAISED THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING!

These pictures totally tell the story and leave you feeling like you were there to witness the whole night of events!

This was only the first stop for this awesome event…..next stop was New York City!

DC Nitelife will definitely see you at next year’s 5th Annual Raheem DeVaughn and Friends Benefit Concert!
