The “One and Only” Ms. Angie Stone took to the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club stage, rhinestone blouse, black slacks and rhinestone closed-toe heels, at 7 pm, looking fabulous, but seemingly semi-ready, to give the audience what they had been so anxiously awaiting. Ms. Stone had been battling a severe illness for some time, but was mustering the strength to perform, the way she has so many times prior.
She began with songs from her latest album before taking the audience back with “Brown Sugar.” It was during that performance, approximately 30 minutes into the performance, that Ms. Stone realized that she was not going to be able to perform and give the audience what they had come to see and hear and more importantly, what they deserved. There were Artist and Venue managerial decisions made that the performance would end at that time, unfortunately. However, before the guests left the auditorium they were addressed and apologized from both Ms. Stone herself and the management of Bethesda Blues and Jazz, given the options of a make-up date for the performance or monetary refund. The performance make-up date has been set for March 28 & 29, 2017 @ 8 pm.
