Eleven-time Grammy nominee and Oklahoma native Charlie Wilson announced today that his upcoming national arena tour will kick off on Feb. 8 in Norfolk, Virginia.

The tour, “In It To Win It,” is also the title of Wilson’s upcoming album, which is slated for release on Feb. 17 and features musical guests Snoop Dogg, Pitbull, Robin Thicke, Wiz Khalifa, and TI.  The first single, “Chills,” is coming soon, according to a news release.

Every ticket purchased online for the “In It To Win It Tour” comes with one physical copy of the album. Customers will receive a redemption email from Ticketmaster shortly after their purchase with instructions on how to secure their copy of the CD.   Any album redemption submitted before the album release date will be received by the customer on the official album release date.

“I am excited about being on the road with my friends Grammy-Award winner, Fantasia, and four time Grammy-Award nominee, Johnny Gill,” said Wilson in the news release. “As usual, folks should come prepared for a party.  I am looking forward to performing my new single, “Chills” together with some music from my new album and my classic hits.”

On Thursday, March 1, he brought his tour to Baltimore at the Royal Farms Arena; and it did not disappoint.  Johnny Gill was first to perform and his performance was fire!  His performed his old hit and the crowd, especially the ladies went bananas. Not to mention is tailored blue sparkly suit and shoes.  I must admit, when he sang “My, My, My” I was not only excited but everything in me melted as I am sure most of the women melted away as I did.  Needless to say, I am a really big Johnny Gill fan.

The fiery, take her shoes off, American Idol winner, Fantasia, was nothing short of amazing.  She performed her old hits and her new hits that we all adore and sang along to.  Her performance was explosive from beginning to end and she engaged the audience by talking about  her trials and tribulations that I am sure we could relate to.  She also showcased he backup singers and propelled them into the spotlight.  Let me just say, these women could “SANG”, and sang, they did, uplifting the crowd at the same time.  This was my first time seeing Fantasia and I must say, that my respect level for her was already at one hundred percent but this performance took it to a thousand percent, for me at least.   The treat for me was that she sang one of my favorite Gospel songs “Total Praise” and brought me personally to tears.

I have heard that Charlie Wilson performances were legendary but I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into.  I was also told that his performance was an experience.  Well, let me tell you, IT WAS TRULY AN EXPERIENCE!  He sang his new songs and his old and I was simply amazed.  He was dancing and performing like a young whipper snapper with his dancers.  I LOVED IT!  He incorporated lights and themes to his songs and I have to say it again, it was nothing short of amazing.  At one point, the dancers came out with wings and I was floored.  Not only did he deliver a second to none performance, it was very visually pleasing as well.  A Thousand thumbs up for Charlie Wilson and his band, dancers and his presence!
