The M.E. Tour Graced the Stage of the Historical Howard Theater

For the 2nd time in 4 days, the M.E. Tour graced the stage of the Historic Howard Theater and just as a few nights prior, they did not disappoint. The 4-time Grammy nominated Benet, wearing what has become his staple fedora, set the tone for an intimate evening. He thrilled the patrons with his wedding classic “Spend My Life With You’, and after paying homage to the industry greats who had passed over the last year, paid tribute to the one and only Prince with his rendition of “How Come You Don’t Call Me” and his own Prince-inspired “Insane”. His lilting falsetto on full display, Benet exhilarated the patrons with “You’re The Only One I Need” and “Sometimes I Cry” before closing with a crowd-engaged cover of “Georgie Porgie”.

The crowd was now primed for Ambrosius who, like a few nights before, invited those in attendance on a musical journey through her life. Opening with the funky “Where Are My Shoes?”, Ms. Marsha performed beautiful renderings of Michael Jackson’s “Butterflies” and Stevie Wonder’s “Knocks Me Off My Feet” before flowing into a medley of songs that had the crowd on their feet. Taking a moment to catch her breath, (and give us in the audience time as well) Ambrosius made sure to talk up her new beautiful baby girl Nyla, as well as mention her fiancé, who was there to support her. Showing off her musical acumen, Ambrosius took to the piano for a few songs before closing the show with a stirring delivery of “Just Like Old Times’ and her much beloved “Say Yes”. YES, Marsha, YES!!
