DC Nitelife had the pleasure of enjoying an evening with Billy Ocean presented by Meeko Buford Enterprise at the Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club in Bethesda, MD. This event celebrated Fat Tuesday with Billy Ocean for 2 shows. Billy Ocean packed the house and sold out the Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club. The Trinidadian-born, British-raised Billy Ocean is an international sensation whose sold more than 30 million records and even won a Grammy Award in 1985 for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
No wonder with hits that have reached Gold and Platinum status like Suddenly, Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car, Love Really Hurts without You, Loverboy, There’ll Be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry), Stop Me, and last but not least, Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run). His latest album, Here You Are, was released in 2013. He is one of the UK’s most prominent R&B artists.
After all these years, his voice and show is phenomenal as well as very entertaining. The audience enjoyed singing along with him and reminiscing on the past. It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves to the great favorites of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.
It was a pleasure seeing the Billy Ocean show at the Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club. They are a small concert hall serving excellent food and drinks. It features 300 seats for dinner and 200 additional performance seats, which are made available when the dinner seats are sold out. You’ll be able to see your favorite artists in an intimate, elegant, and acoustically superb setting with a beautiful new 40 ft. bar and lounge area.
