One of the original awesome Go-Go bands, Northeast Groovers is having their 30th anniversary show Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11:00 p.m. at the Historical Howard Theatre.
Northeast Groovers also known as “N.E.G.” made their debut into the Go-Go scene in 1988, in a small home in Northeast Washington, DC. Following the Go-Go blue print paved by Chuck Brown, N.E.G. took Go-Go to the next level. Over the years the members in Northeast Groovers changed until they found the perfect match of musical talent that would then lead the band to success.
In 1990 Northeast Groovers recorded their first studio album titled Northeast Crankin. Since then Northeast Groovers released several albums titled Straight From The Basement, N.E.G. Jams, Northeast Coming, and Northeast on Fire. In addition, N.E.G. also released several radio singles such as Booty Call, Tha Water, and Van Damme.
