IF YOU MISSED THIS OLD SKOOL SWEATSUIT THROWBACK JAM,
THEN YOU DEFINITELY MISSED A NIGHT OF GO-GO AND HIP HOP LEGENDS!!
This 80’s Old Skool Hip Hop Party had the hotel lower level on lock down with 3 rooms of music with DJ Mixx, DJ E-Lux, DJ KC and DJ Julian Tucker on the turntables.
It was an 80’s THROWBACK NIGHT as the whole ballroom was full of every type of old skool sweatsuit you can remember coupled with the newest fashions of Adidas sweats. This was the first time that an Old Skool Sweatsuit Throwback Jam went down in the DMV or anywhere for that matter!! It made you feel like you were in some type of time zone from back in the 1980’s.
The night started with the legendary Go-Go Band, Trouble Funk, who get the credit for franchising Go-Go and the first to create original music to go with the beat. Trouble played the crowd’s favorites, such as “Get Down With Your Get Down,” “Latin Funk,” “Super Grit,” “Pump Me Up” and “Drop the Bomb.”
NOW the crowd was thoroughly pumped up and ready for Chubb Rock. That brother tore the stage up with his famous #1 hits, such as; “Treat ‘Em Right,” “Just The Two Of Us” and “The Chubbster.”
After Chubb there wasn’t a soul sitting down and Whodini appeared on stage with the famous threesome, Jalil Hutchins, John Fletcher, and aka Ecstasy (who was always known for wearing the Zorro hat). There will never be another who can bring the excitement to stage like these brothers. They brought the best of Whodini with their famous hits, like the Freaks Come Out At Night and who doesn’t remember, Friends, and we surely can’t forget dancing to the beat of One Love.
Last to ROCK the stage and jam the old skool 80’s way was Sugar Bear and Experience Unlimited. E.U. has taken DC’s Go-Go music nationally with their famous song, “Doing Da Butt.” E.U., who is always one of the favorites in the Go-Go arena, had everyone on their feet jamming to the beat and showing why after all these years, Go-Go is still ALIVE AND WELL!!
Let me not forget the DAPARTY CRASHERZ who hosted and made the party what it was. These guys were HILARIOUS!! They kept the party going and no problem with posing for pictures and dancing with everyone all night and keeping the fun going NON-STOP!!
SHOUT OUT to the promoters, DL&G, Fat Head Prod., Niamani Prod., and JWC who surely know how to throw a party YOU WON’T EVER FORGET!!
DC NITELIFE WON’T MISS THEIR NEXT EVENT AND I’M SURE YOU WON’T EITHER!!
