President Donald Trump will eliminate climate change from a list of global threats in a new National Security Strategy the president is planning to unveil Monday afternoon.
Trump’s decision to exclude this issue is abided by his platform of “America First”, an effort to prop up American interests in what the president views as a competition with other countries.
Back in 2015, Obama said climate change presents an “urgent and growing threat to our national security.” That designation will disappear under Trump’s new strategy plan. Prior to taking office, Trump referred to climate change as a hoax, and has waged war on Obama’s regulations concerning the issue. Trump previously promised to pull the U.S. from the Paris Agreement—an international agreement reached in 2015 that provides a global approach to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The Federalist website quoted the draft document as stating:
“US leadership is indispensable to countering an anti-growth energy agenda that is detrimental to US economic and energy security interests”.
“Much of the developing world will require fossil fuels, as well as other forms of energy, to power their economies and lift their people out of poverty.”
Trump definitely has no vision of his own, he is bent on tearing down anything associated with President Obama, even if it means our country could be at risk. Every national and international science agency in the world, virtually the whole of academia, a large percentage of businesses, the U.S. military, and the insurance industry, all state that man-made emissions of greenhouse gases are leading to increased average temperatures globally. Of course, the traitor-in-chief turns a blind eye to global issues because it isn’t included in his agenda – to destroy every Obama-era policy.
